My book is about growing up with OCD and the many challenges that it has presented me along the way. In the beginning it was the worry of being left behind somewhere or just simply being out of my comfort zone. Then my worst nightmare of being packed off to a boarding school with little self esteem but a lot of anxiety. Then later, struggles with my illness at work and then on to my home life. Although I have been plagued with anxiety and OCD, my life has had many ups as well as downs. This book is simply written from my heart with no exaggerations. There didn’t need to be. I’ve added humour because my life has been full of it, oh and because I’ve often been told I’m funny. The book follows my path from adolescence and well in to my adult years. It tells the story of my struggle from living away from home, mixed with my OCD traits of lock, lock, locking and check, check, checking amongst many others. The book tells the story of misery, guilt and above all hope that I am sure similar sufferers will be able to agree with. I hope this book will help people to further comprehend this illness with sufferers feeling understood and therapists being able to find new ways of fighting this debilitating disorder.
